Stuckless Pond trail

On the trail to Stuckless Pond

While in Newfoundland we found many plants that we had never encountered anywhere else.

This is Kalm's Lobelia.

Showy Lady's Slipper.

In some places people had worn major trails into the bog to view these spectacular orchids. Have you heard the expression, "loving it to death?"

A stream running through the woods, Just down from Stuckless Pond

And this is Stuckless Pond itself.

You will notice that almost every lake, with the exception of the very largest ones, are called "ponds!" Similarly, rivers are called "brooks."
