Hot Air Balloon Ride

A small herd of cows ran away from us. This is probably because we were so low.
Coming in low over town...
The first balloon lands
Our landing site is just up ahead.
That's our shadow
After we're down. When landing, we bounced a few times. This is quite normal, as the balloon is still inflated, and the breeze is still blowing.

Here we are allowing the balloon to settle a bit.

Here the pilot and one of the customers (there were 4 of us plus the pilot on board), squish the air out of the balloon.
All the air's out. Notice how it's laid nice and straight along the ground. This helps a lot when it's taken out for the next flight.
All packed away. One of these costs about $35,000!!
Our pilot, Mike (left) and his helper, Joe, with the basket.

The morning flight was concluded with a traditional toast:

The wind has welcomed you with softness.
The sun has blessed you with warm hands.
You've flown so high and so well that Nature has joined you in laughter,
and set you gently back again into the loving arms of Mother Earth.

Thanks to Sundance Balloons for a memorable once-in-a-lifetime experience!
